Addiction Psychiatrist / Medical Director Opportunity

Location: Indianapolis, IN

We are seeking an experienced Addiction Psychiatrist to join a comprehensive behavioral health and substance use treatment program in the Indianapolis, Indiana area.

The primary facility includes a 112-bed detoxification and residential treatment program, along with a 60-bed Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).

Additional treatment locations are located throughout the region, ranging from approximately 40 minutes to 3 hours from Indianapolis. Each additional location offers approximately 60 beds dedicated to detoxification and residential treatment.

The preferred arrangement is for one full-time psychiatrist to provide clinical and medical leadership across the program. However, part-time opportunities may also be considered to provide coverage at one or more locations.

Responsibilities

Provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with substance use and co-occurring psychiatric disorders

• Provide direct patient care within detoxification and residential treatment programs
• Serve in a Medical Director capacity and provide clinical leadership for the program

Provide clinical oversight and supervision of advanced practice providers and other members of the treatment team

Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans

Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, therapists, counselors, and other behavioral health professionals

• Support continuity of care across detoxification, residential, PHP, and IOP levels of treatment
• Participate in clinical meetings, treatment planning, and quality improvement initiatives
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

Help ensure services are provided in accordance with applicable clinical, regulatory, and organizational standards

Provide coverage and clinical support across additional treatment locations as needed based on the selected employment arrangement

• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
• Fellowship training and/or demonstrated experience in Addiction Psychiatry or Addiction Medicine
• Board certification in Addiction Psychiatry or Addiction Medicine preferred
• Eligible for an Indiana medical license
• Experience treating substance use disorders and co-occurring psychiatric conditions
• Experience supervising or collaborating with advanced practice providers
• Medical leadership or Medical Director experience preferred
• Strong clinical, leadership, and communication skills
