About the Role
The Family Medicine Faculty Physician serves as a clinician, educator, mentor, and scholar who supports excellence in patient care, resident education, quality improvement, and community health.
What You'll Do
Clinical Care
- Provide comprehensive, evidence-based family medicine care across the lifespan.
- Diagnose and manage acute, chronic, and preventive health conditions.
- Promote patient safety, quality improvement, and population health initiatives.
- Model patient-centered, team-based care and effective clinical communication.
Teaching & Supervision
- Teach and supervise residents, medical students, and other learners in clinical and didactic settings.
- Provide ongoing mentorship, feedback, and performance evaluations.
- Participate in curriculum development, conferences, and other educational activities.
- Support learners in developing clinical skills, professionalism, and independent decision-making.
Procedures
Demonstrate competency in and supervise learners performing common Family Medicine procedures, including:
- Joint and soft tissue injections
- Trigger point injections
- Skin biopsies, including punch, shave, and excisional biopsies
- Cryotherapy
- Incision and drainage of abscesses
- Laceration repair and suture removal
- Toenail removal
- Splinting and basic fracture care
- EKG performance and interpretation
- Nexplanon insertion and removal
- IUD insertion and removal
- Endometrial biopsy
- Colposcopy, if credentialed
- Circumcision, if applicable
- Local anesthesia administration
- Point-of-care procedures and CLIA-waived testing
Scholarship & Continuous Improvement
- Participate in scholarly activities, research, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
- Support and mentor residents in scholarly projects and quality improvement activities.
- Contribute to initiatives that promote clinical excellence and improved patient outcomes.
Leadership & Program Participation
- Participate in departmental, residency, and committee activities.
- Support compliance with ACGME requirements and ongoing residency program improvement.

Required Education & Experience
- Graduation from Accredited Medical School (MD, or DO)
- Eligible to obtain Active/Clear Florida Medical License
- Board Certified in Family Medicine
- 3-Years of experience in Graduate Medical Education, preferred

Key Responsibilities
The Faculty Physician provides comprehensive family medicine care while teaching and supervising residents and medical students in clinical settings. They also participate in scholarly activities, quality improvement initiatives, and residency program leadership.
Requirements
Candidates must hold an MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school and be board certified in Family Medicine. Eligibility for an active Florida medical license and a minimum of 3 years of experience in Graduate Medical Education are preferred.
