Job Description
Bassett Healthcare Network, a progressive, academic health system in central New York, major teaching affiliate of Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant to join our Department of Orthopedics.
- Salary Range: $125,000 - $150,000
- Sign-on Bonus: up to $50,000
- Additional: $20,000 by joining a twice per month call group
- Location: Cooperstown, NY
- Job Description & Responsibilities
- Join an established group of Orthopedic Surgeons and 13 Advanced Practice Clinicians
- Responsibilities will include clinic, hospital floor and OR coverage
- After training period, primary location to be Cooperstown, NY
- Practice within Bassett Healthcare Network, an integrated system delivering care across an 8-county region
- New grads welcome - defined ramp up and training
- Job Qualifications
- National certification as a Physician Assistant
- New York medical license (or eligibility to obtain)
- BLS certification required
- DEA required
Compensation
Salary Range: $125,000 - $150,000
This compensation range represents Bassett Healthcare’s good faith belief of the compensation range at the time of this posting or advertisement. Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
The Physician Assistant will provide clinical, hospital floor, and operating room coverage within the Department of Orthopedics. They will work alongside orthopedic surgeons and other advanced practice clinicians to deliver integrated care.
Requirements
Candidates must hold national certification as a Physician Assistant and possess or be eligible for a New York medical license. BLS and DEA certifications are also required for this position.
