Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical management for neonatal patients in a Level 3 NICU
- Perform required procedures including intubation, UVC insertion, lumbar puncture, PICC line placement
- Cover on-call responsibilities (beeper/phone) during off-shift hours, including emergency assessments
- Collaborate with nursing staff and consulting spécialists to optimize patient care
- Document patient progress and procedures using EpIC EMR system
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive medical care for neonates in a Level 3 NICU, including performing intubations, UVC insertions, lumbar punctures, and PICC line placements. Provide after-hours beeper or phone call coverage, assess emergencies, collaborate with nursing staff and consulting specialists, and document care in Epic.
Requirements
Requires a neonatology fellowship, board certification or board eligibility within five years, and an active Michigan medical license or willingness to obtain one. An active DEA certification and NRP certification are required; a clean background is highly preferred.
