Job Description
- Perform well child exams, sick visits, follow up evaluations
- Obtain medical histories, conduct physical examination, diagnose and manage common pediatric conditions
- Order and interpret labs and diagnostic studies
- Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans within scope of practice
- Monitor growth, development and immunization, preventative care needs
- Provide patient and parent education, anticipatory guidance and counseling
- Identify conditions requiring referrals
- Maintain timely and accurate medical records
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, medical assistance to ensure high quality of patient care
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited PA program, current state license
- NCCPA certification
- Excellent clinical and communication skills
- Pediatric experience preferred
Key Responsibilities
Conduct pediatric well-child exams, sick visits, and follow-up evaluations; assess patients, diagnose and manage common conditions, order and interpret tests, and prescribe medications within the scope of practice. Monitor growth, development, immunizations, and preventive care needs; educate and counsel patients and parents, coordinate referrals, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with the care team.
