Job Description

In This Role You Will Be

  • Conduct comprehensive physical therapy evaluations for patients admitted to inpatient units (medical-surgical, ICU, orthopedics, neurology, etc.).
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings, physician recommendations, and patient goals.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions including gait training, balance, strengthening, and mobility activities.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, modifying the plan of care as needed.
  • Provide education to patients and caregivers on exercises, safety, and discharge recommendations.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, case managers, occupational therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members.
  • Participate in discharge planning by providing input regarding mobility status, equipment needs, and appropriate follow-up services.
  • Ensure documentation is accurate, timely, and meets regulatory, payer, and facility requirements.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, ethical standards, and professional guidelines.

Qualifications

Required

  • EDUCATION: BS degree in physical therapy required, master’s or DPT preferred
  • EXPERIENCE: 1+ years of experience in an inpatient hospital or rehabilitation setting preferred

Licensure/Certification

  • BLS certification required or obtained within 1 month of hire
  • Physical Therapy license in Pennsylvania required

Key Responsibilities

The physical therapist will conduct comprehensive evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for patients in various inpatient units. They will also deliver therapeutic interventions, monitor patient progress, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to facilitate safe discharge planning.
