Job Details: Job Location: Heart of Florida Health Center MAIN - Ocala, FL, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Job Summary This position's work location is East Marion Elementary School. As a School-Based Licensed Clinical Therapist at Heart of Florida Health Center, you will play a vital role in providing assessments, treatments, psychotherapy, and referrals within our school-based service sites. This position focuses on delivering individual, couples, and family therapy to students, staff, community members, and families, addressing a range of behavioral and mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, and substance use disorders. You will collaborate closely with a multi-disciplinary team including medical providers and psychiatric nurses to ensure comprehensive care for our school community.
Qualifications and Requirements Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Mental Health, Psychology or an acceptable related field Active, unrestricted Florida licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), required for fully licensed applicants. Registered interns pursuing Florida clinical licensure may be considered Clinical experience providing behavioral health assessment, counseling, or psychotherapy, preferably with children, adolescents, and families. Demonstrated experience assessing and treating common behavioral health conditions affecting school-aged children and adolescents, including anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral concerns, and family-related stressors. Experience providing behavioral health services in a school-based, pediatric, community mental health, or other child-serving setting preferred. Demonstrated ability to adapt therapeutic interventions to the developmental, emotional, and social needs of children and adolescents. Experience collaborating with parents, guardians, school personnel, and other professionals to support patient treatment goals, while maintaining appropriate confidentiality. Essential Functions Plans and organizes behavioral health service delivery for Heart of Florida Health Center. Provides individual, group, or family therapy to HFHC patients, using evidence-based models such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and psychoeducation. Assesses patients utilizing the biopsychosocial model and utilizing evidenced based assessments for new patients to include but not limit GAD7, PHQ9, SBIRT, and MDQ. Appropriately documents information and review assessments to determine best plan of care. Establishes and maintains positive, therapeutic relationships with patients and their families. Conducts interviews with patients and their families to assess and review their situation. Provides assistance to patients by helping them cope with issues in their everyday lives and relationships by helping to address personal and family problems. Uses evidence-based interventions to provide treatment to patients. Maintains accurate records and documentation. Ensures that treatment is delivered in accordance with high ethical and professional standards and achieves positive patient outcomes. Ensures that patients’ rights are protected and reports any abuse/neglect to the proper authorities. Counsels patients and identifies their psychosocial needs. Prepares educational materials as needed or required. Works closely with community partnerships. Performs short term counseling and crisis intervention as necessary. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of patient privacy rights. Maintains confidentiality of all medical, financial, and other sensitive materials and information in printed, electronic or verbal form, which may jeopardize the privacy of patients and/or employees. Accesses and uses the minimum necessary patient identifiable information to perform job responsibilities and duties and only for authorized purposes. Performs other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling and stooping all day, but may also involve long periods of sitting or computer-based work. This employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 30 pounds. Must be able to lift, carry and handle equipment, supplies and other work site materials according to position requirements.
