Key Responsibilities
The Pathologist Assistant performs surgical specimen dissection, gross description, and assists with frozen section evaluations under the supervision of a Pathologist. They also conduct postmortem examinations, including tissue submission and dictation of gross findings.
Requirements
Candidates must hold a Pathologists' Assistant (PA) certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or obtain it within one year. A certificate of completion from a Pathology Assistant program is required.
