The Pathologists' Assistant performs gross examination of surgical specimens, frozen sectioning, and prepares tissue samples for laboratory evaluations. They also ensure accurate block labeling and communicate discrepancies while working under the supervision of a board-certified anatomic pathologist.
Candidates must hold a baccalaureate or higher degree in Biochemical Sciences and have completed a NACCLS-accredited Pathologist’s Assistant Training Program. Possession of or eligibility for ASCP Pathologists' Assistant certification is required.
