Faculty members participate in resident and fellow education, multidisciplinary conferences, and breast tumor board. Our integrated breast practice provides frequent opportunities to collaborate with colleagues in breast surgery, medical oncology, pathology, radiation oncology, women’s health, genetics, and the multidisciplinary breast clinic.

Mayo Clinic Arizona is a regional and national referral center for patients with breast cancer, serving patients from throughout Arizona, neighboring states, and across the country. Radiologists benefit from close working relationships with clinical colleagues, as well as strong support from medical physicists, scientists, research personnel, technologists, and administrative partners.

Division Highlights

The Breast Imaging Division has a broad and expanding clinical, educational, and research portfolio. We seek a colleague who will contribute to this work and help shape the division’s continued growth.

The division has a strong record of early adoption and thoughtful implementation of advanced breast imaging technologies. Significant investment in 3T breast MRI has supported the development of a high-resolution, fully ACR-accredited clinical protocol completed in approximately nine minutes. Molecular breast imaging further enhances our supplemental screening capabilities.

The division currently includes seven breast imaging radiologists. Recent annual clinical volumes include:

  • 15,629 screening mammograms
  • 5,403 diagnostic mammograms
  • 3,647 breast ultrasound examinations
  • 1,359 contrast-enhanced mammograms
  • 1,387 molecular breast imaging examinations
  • 1,579 breast MRI examinations
  • 1,412 mammography-, ultrasound-, and contrast-enhanced mammography-guided procedures
  • 208 MRI-guided procedures

Our clinical practice uses Hologic mammography systems, GE ultrasound equipment, GE 3T MRI scanners, Epic electronic health records, Radiant RIS, and Visage PACS.

Education

Education is an important component of the division’s mission. Faculty members are accomplished and recognized educators who have received numerous teaching awards and hold educational leadership roles within the division, the Department of Radiology, and Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine. The successful candidate will have opportunities to teach radiology residents, breast imaging fellows, medical students, and other learners in both clinical and multidisciplinary settings, as well as serve as a mentor to their personal, educational and academic growth.
