Position Summary

The Nurse Navigator, Head & Neck Cancer, coordinates seamless, patient-centered care across the continuum of head and neck cancer services, ensuring timely access to treatment, support, and resources.

As a key member of the multidisciplinary care team, this role provides education and guidance to patients and families regarding available internal and external support services, resources, and care options.

The Nurse Navigator, Head & Neck Cancer serves as a liaison among physicians, patients, families, healthcare providers, nursing facilities, home health agencies, employers, and insurance carriers to facilitate communication, remove barriers to care, and promote high-quality patient outcomes.

Education

Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) required. Master’s degree in nursing preferred.

  • Current and valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey required.
  • Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred upon hire or obtained within 1 year of employment.

Experience

Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience required. 1 year of head and neck oncology experience strongly preferred.

Skills

Ability to coordinate complex care across the continuum for patients with head and neck cancer.

Skilled in educating patients and families on diagnosis, treatment options, supportive services, and community resources.

Strong collaboration and communication skills to effectively engage multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to identify and address barriers to care, ensuring timely access to services and treatment.
  • Knowledge of healthcare systems, insurance processes, and community-based support resources.
  • Demonstrated advocacy skills with a strong commitment to patient-centered, high-quality care.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple patient cases and priorities effectively.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with physicians, healthcare providers, patients, families, employers, and payers.

  • Pay Range: $99,424.00 - $124,280.00
  • The posted pay range reflects the compensation for a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE)
