We are led by a highly accomplished management team and provide a full suite of management services to its affiliated practices. UHP is currently affiliated with 154 providers consisting of 110 physicians and 44 advanced practice providers operating out of 54 locations across Southern, Central, and Northern California.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Physician/Urologist is responsible for providing urological care to patients, including assessment, treatment, care planning, and medical care evaluation. The Physician follows federal/state laws and regulations to ensure excellent patient relations.
The Physician will be responsible for the evaluation and management of patients with urological disorders including, but not limited to performance of cystoscopy, transurethral surgeries, nephrectomy, vasectomy, varicoceles, advanced pediatric surgery, pyeloplasty, epispadias, hypospadias repair, and gender assignment.
Communication with other physicians, staff, and patients is paramount in this position to ensure that patient needs are met effectively and efficiently.
What You Will Be Doing
- Diagnose or treat diseases or disorders of genitourinary organs and tracts including erectile dysfunction (ED), infertility, incontinence, bladder cancer, prostate cancer, urethral stones, or premature ejaculation.
- Document or review patients' histories.
- Order and interpret the results of diagnostic tests, such as prostate-specific antigen (PSA) screening, to detect prostate cancer.
- Perform abdominal, pelvic, or retroperitoneal surgeries.
- Examine patients using equipment, such as radiograph (x-ray) machines and fluoroscopes, to determine the nature and extent of disorder or injury.
- Treat lower urinary tract dysfunctions using equipment such as diathermy machines, catheters, cystoscopes, and radium emanation tubes.
- Prescribe or administer antibiotics, antiseptics, or compresses to treat infection or injury.
- Provide urology consultation to physicians or other health care professionals.
- Treat urologic disorders using alternatives to traditional surgery such as extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, laparoscopy, and laser techniques.
What You Will Bring to the Team
- Current DEA License
- Candidates must be board-certified/eligible in Urology
- Current California Physician License
- Completion of a residency program in urology
- Minimum 3 years of experience
