Job Description

  • Makes all professional medical judgments in the care of patients seen.
  • Manages the physician/patient relationship.
  • Participates in systemwide health management initiatives.
  • Provides input into the practice site s financial, clinical, and service quality performance; budget; capital plan; and personnel issues.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of clinical and service standards.
  • Receives and resolves patient complaints.
  • Participates in the recruitment and replacement of other providers.

Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, literature review, in-services, and workshops.

Consults with and advises other providers regarding optimal and cost effective treatment of patients with rheumatologic disorders.

Performs other functions as required.

Key Responsibilities

Provide medical care and make clinical judgments for patients with rheumatologic disorders, while managing physician-patient relationships and advising other providers on effective, cost-conscious treatment. Contribute to clinical quality and service standards, practice operations and planning, patient complaint resolution, and provider recruitment.

Requirements

Requires an M.D. or D.O. and board eligibility or certification in Rheumatology. A New Mexico medical license is required.
