Job Description
This contract, on-site position offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled anesthesia professional to provide essential care in a medical practice setting while enjoying the flexibility of a locum assignment.
As a Locum CRNA, you will deliver safe and effective anesthesia care to patients across a variety of surgical and procedural settings. You will collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes throughout the perioperative experience.
Responsibilities
- Administer anesthesia to patients undergoing surgical and diagnostic procedures
- Perform pre-anesthetic assessments and develop individualized anesthesia care plans
- Monitor patients' vital signs and physiological responses during anesthesia
- Manage airway and respiratory support as required
- Collaborate with surgeons and anesthesiologists throughout procedures
- Administer and adjust medications and anesthetic agents as needed
- Document anesthesia care accurately and comprehensively
- Provide post-anesthesia care and monitor patient recovery
- Respond promptly to emergencies and complications during anesthesia
- Educate patients and families about anesthesia procedures and recovery
- Adhere to all safety protocols, infection control standards, and regulatory guidelines
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records
Requirements
- Associate degree in Nursing or a related field
- Current and valid CRNA certification
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Strong knowledge of anesthesia techniques and pharmacology
- Excellent critical thinking and rapid decision-making skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Commitment to patient safety and high-quality care
- Willingness to work on-site and adapt to varied clinical schedules
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7a-3p, specific dates
No call or weekends
Setting: Outpatient and inpatient
Case Types: Endoscopy, gynecology, general, and urology
Required Procedures: Rectus sheath, QL, femoral/adductor canal, TAP, and interscalene blocks
Must be able to work independently
EMR: Cerner
Must be board-certified
ACLS, BLS, and PALS required
