Job Description

To assess the nutritional needs of patients; provide quality nutritional care and monitor response to nutrition therapy as appropriate to the age of the population served (i. e. child, adolescent, adult and geriatric)

The rate of pay for each position will be determined based on a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, skills, etc.” The salary range does not include incentives, differential pay or other forms of compensation.

St. Joseph’s University Medical Center is an academic tertiary care medical center and state designated trauma center, located on the Paterson campus, regularly accepts referrals of difficult or unusual cases from other hospitals and physicians and performs both complex and routine procedures.

The Medical Center offers a full complement of specialty and subspecialty services including ambulatory, behavioral health, cardiovascular, emergency/trauma, internal medicine, neuroscience, oncology, orthopedic/spine, rehabilitation, surgical specialty, women’s health, imaging and pediatrics.

Key Responsibilities

The Clinical Dietitian is responsible for assessing the nutritional needs of patients across various age groups and providing quality nutritional care. They must monitor patient responses to nutrition therapy and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure effective treatment.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Nutritional Science or a closely related field and possess RD/RDN registration. The role requires strong analytical abilities to collect and interpret data, as well as excellent communication skills for patient education.
