Job description
11144 - MENTAL HEALTH TECH
Under the supervision of nursing staff provides direct patient care and assists with maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment. Reports to: Senior Behavioral Health Director FLSA: Non-exempt Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Required License: CNA Preferred Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Must have within 45 days of hire; Handle with Care (HWC) Mush have within 45 days of hire Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Essential Functions Assists patients with performing activities of daily living. Provides or assists with providing direct patient care, diagnostic procedures and therapeutic interventions. Observes and records patient behavior and activities. Reports any changes in physical, mental or emotional condition to nursing staff and suggests modifications to the treatment plan. Provides crisis intervention with incoming calls and on the unit to maintain safety. Non-Essential Functions Review and comply with LifePoint Code of Conduct and all relevant Company and Division policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
The Behavioral Health Technician provides direct patient care and assists with diagnostic procedures and therapeutic interventions under nursing supervision. They are also responsible for observing patient behavior, documenting changes, and performing crisis intervention to maintain a safe environment.
Requirements
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent and a CNA license. Additionally, they must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) and Handle with Care (HWC) certifications within 45 days of hire.
