Job Description
. This is a contract, on-site position offering a unique opportunity to provide essential mental health care services in a collaborative clinical environment within the medical practice industry.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing care to patients in need of mental health support. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in improving patient outcomes and expanding access to quality psychiatric care in the Lawrence community.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments for patients
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for mental health conditions
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitoring patient response and side effects
- Provide crisis intervention and stabilization services as needed
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters in electronic health records
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
- Participate in case consultations and clinical team meetings
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and ethical standards in psychiatric care
- Provide referrals to specialized services when appropriate
Requirements
- Associate-level experience in psychiatric or mental health clinical practice
- Valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license in the state of practice
- DEA registration and prescriptive authority for controlled substances
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric disorders, psychopharmacology, and treatment modalities
- Experience conducting psychiatric evaluations and medication management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical documentation
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities in clinical settings
- Compassion and empathy for patients with mental health conditions
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced clinical environment
Schedule: 8-hour day shifts, Monday-Friday
No call required
Patient Population: Adults
Average Daily Census: 12-14 patients
EMR: Epic
Outpatient Psychiatry experience needed
Must be board-certified
