Key Responsibilities
The Speech Language Pathologist confirms physician referrals, performs patient assessments, and implements individualized treatment programs based on age and diagnosis, coordinating care with patients, families, and the healthcare team. Responsibilities also include documenting patient care, collaborating with clinical staff, participating in departmental activities, and potentially supervising students or orienting new employees.
Requirements
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program and hold or be eligible for the Certificate of Clinical Competency from ASHA, along with a Virginia state license. One year of clinical experience is required for Home Health positions, and AHA BLS certification is mandatory within six months of employment.
