Job DetailsJob Location: Rock Hill, SC 29730Salary Range: $55.00 - $65.00 HourlyPosition Summary We are seeking a reliable, patient-focused Pharmacist to support our citizens and clinical team. The Pharmacist is responsible for accurately dispensing medications, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, providing high-quality pharmaceutical care, and promoting medication safety. This role serves as a trusted healthcare resource by counseling patients, collaborating with healthcare providers, and supporting the safe and effective use of medications. Core Responsibilities & Duties An individual in this role must be able to perform the following functions with or without reasonable accommodation: Patient Care & Clinical Services Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and potential drug interactions. Dispense prescription medications in accordance with state and federal regulations. Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, dosage instructions, and treatment adherence. Provide medication therapy management (MTM) services and clinical recommendations. Administer immunizations and other clinical services as authorized by state law. Monitor patient medication regimens and identify opportunities to improve outcomes. Pharmacy Operations Maintain compliance with all pharmacy laws, regulations, and accreditation standards. Ensure accurate recordkeeping and documentation of prescriptions and patient information. Oversee inventory management, including controlled substances and medication storage. Assist with resolving prescription insurance issues, prior authorizations, and reimbursement concerns. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment. Team Leadership Support pharmacy technicians and clinical staff. Provide training, mentorship, and guidance to staff. Foster a culture of patient safety, quality improvement, and operational excellence. Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.

Qualifications

Qualifications Experience: Minimum one (1) year of experience working in retail, specialty, hospital, ambulatory care, or similar pharmacy setting. Experience in prescription processing, inventory management, and insurance billing. Experience providing Medication Therapy Management (MTM) services. Familiarity with pharmacy management systems and electronic health records (EHR). Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited college or school of pharmacy. Licenses & Certifications: Active Pharmacist license is in good standing or ability to obtain licensure in South Carolina. Active South Carolina Pharmacist license, or ability to obtain licensure prior to employment. Immunization certification. Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid certification required within the first 90 days of hire. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities To be successful, the pharmacy assistant must possess a blend of technical and interpersonal skills. Experience must have provided basic knowledge of: Ability to successfully complete Employee Health Program requirements and pass a background investigation. Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical care, drug therapy, and pharmacy regulations. Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions. Commitment to patient-centered care and professional ethics. Comprehensive understanding of pharmacology, medication therapy, and medication safety practices. Strong knowledge of drug indications, contraindications, interactions, and adverse side effects. Strong mathematical skills and analytical skills. Ability to accurately calculate, measure, and prepare medications. Ability to identify, investigate, and resolve medication-related issues and prescribing discrepancies. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and decision-making abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. Ability to build effective working relationships with patients, providers, and colleagues. Work Environment & Physical Demands Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 25 pounds. Manual dexterity required for medication preparation, dispensing, and computer use. Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements. Fast-paced clinical environment with frequent patient interactions. Regular use of electronic health records (EHR), pharmacy management systems, and computers applications.
