Job Details: Job Location: Harlem - New York, NY, Position Type: Regular Full-Time, Salary Range: $267900.00 - $278200.00Salary/year, Job Shift: 1, Job Category: Physician, Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Psychiatrist - CPEP to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem.

Harlem Hospital is a designated Level 1 Trauma Center and is recognized for providing centers of excellence in the areas of Bariatric Surgery, Breast Imaging, and Sexual Assault Forensics.

Our teams provide services for nearly 213,000 outpatient visits, more than 83,000 emergency room visits, and over 13,000 inpatient admissions annually.

NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem's CPEP provides 24/7 emergency psychiatric evaluation and crisis intervention, with a six-bed Extended Observation Unit, to a diverse, underserved community.

The multidisciplinary team consists of Psychiatrists, Psychiatric NPs, Social Workers, Nurses, and other behavioral health specialists delivering high-quality care in an academic safety-net setting. Opportunity Details: Full-time, daytime Psychiatrist to join our CPEP team; 8- or 12-hour shifts.

Part-time may also be considered. Evaluate and manage acute psychiatric, behavioral health, and substance use emergencies. Work within a multidisciplinary team of Psychiatrists, Psychiatric NPs, Social Workers, Nurses, and other behavioral health professionals.

Teach and supervise Psychiatry Residents, Medical Students, and other trainees as applicable. Respond to consult requests from the Medical ER, Pediatric ER, and Inpatient Medical and Pediatric units, as well as the Inpatient Psychiatric unit after hours.

Qualifications

Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry. Active New York State Medical License. Wages and Benefits include: Annual Base Salary: $267,900* (board eligible); $278,200* (board certified) based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours. The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $438,690

(Board Eligible) and $450,020

(board certified), which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below: Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $104,000***.

Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets. 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits): Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.

After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required. Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement. Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.

Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top-tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates. Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Coverage: Equal to 2x your salary (up to a maximum of $300,000) provided at no cost to you.

Additional employee-paid Voluntary Life and AD&D coverage is available for you and your family. Loan Forgiveness: Position may be eligible for loan forgiveness through certain state or federal programs. Medical Malpractice Coverage (equivalent to occurrence-based): Provided at no cost to the employee.

Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs). Pre-tax employee-paid contributions for commuting expenses. Visa sponsorship will be considered for this position.

The psychiatrist will evaluate and manage acute psychiatric, behavioral health, and substance use emergencies within a multidisciplinary team. Additionally, they will provide clinical supervision to residents and medical students while responding to consult requests across various hospital units.

Requirements

Candidates must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry and hold an active New York State Medical License. The role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, academic safety-net hospital environment.
