Job Description
Shriners Children's St. Louis has an opportunity for a PRN Pharmacist. In this role the pharmacist properly checks, prepares, and distributes medications, and ensures proper control measures of medication and medication storage areas. Key Responsibilities
Conducts and oversees the preparation and dispensing of medications, guided by professional standards of practice.
- Receive prescriptions and medication orders from providers
- Check medication orders for proper dosing, contraindications, interactions
- Prepares, fills, and dispenses medications based upon physician orders
Assesses the appropriateness of medications prescribed, monitors medication effects on the patient and provides drug information to hospital and medical staff
Assist the Pharmacy Manager in planning, developing, coordinating and controlling pharmacy department functions and in training, supervising and evaluating pharmacy support personnel
Orders CII controlled substances and maintain control of all controlled substances
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor in Pharmacy
- Pharmacy license in state of practice
Preferred Qualifications
- PharmD
- 2 years Hospital Pharmacy experience
- Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
Requirements
Candidates must hold a Bachelor in Pharmacy and a valid pharmacy license in the state of practice. A PharmD and at least 2 years of hospital pharmacy experience are preferred.
