A Brief Overview

Performs radiographic and other diagnostic imaging procedures to assist

physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries by performing the following

duties.

Experience Qualifications

* 2 years Experience in a hospital or clinical setting. Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

* Registered Technologist - ARRT Required

* Licensed Radiology Technologist (LRT) - KSBHA Kansas license must be obtained

within 60 days of hire

* Basic Life Support - BLS Required within 90 days of hire

What you will do

* Prepares and positions patient for diagnostic imaging procedures. Moves

imaging equipment into specified position, determines exposure factors on

basis of height, weight, portion of body involved, and degree of penetration

required, and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors and produce

images of proper detail, density, and accuracy. Adjusts immobilization

devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by

physician.

* Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent

judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply rescribed ionizing radiation

for radiologic diagnosis. Operates mobile radiologic equipment in clinic when

applicable.

* Performs routine maintenance, diagnoses malfunctions, and makes minor repairs

on radiologic equipment, arranging for repairs as needed.

* Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient

and staff.

* Processes images and reviews for proper identification and quality control.

* Completes forms and maintains records, logs, and reports of work performed.

Performs office work including, but not limited to, answering phone,

obtaining information from computer, and ordering departmental supplies.

* Provides a positive image to customers by creating a friendly atmosphere and

placing a high priority on meeting customer needs in a courteous manner.

Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient

cooperation.

* Prepares images for reading by radiologist or requesting physician.

* Assist in training students and/or new staff.

* Responds to needs and is knowledgeable of appropriate care for school-aged

through gerontological patients.

* Adheres to staffing and scheduling practices.

* Seeks opportunities to improve knowledge base by attending departmental

meetings, in services and other educational activities.

* Clinic MSD: Point of care testing, assisting nursing staff with rooming

patients and cleaning exam rooms.

Travel Requirements

* 20% Travel between facilities as necessary.
