This is a highly student-centered position for someone who enjoys working directly with children and adolescents, partnering with families, and collaborating with a strong multidisciplinary school team. You will help students build the organization, self-management, emotional regulation, attendance, relationship, and problem-solving skills they need to participate successfully in school and become increasingly independent over time. ACADEMIC, SOCIAL & EMOTIONAL SUCCESS ARE CONNECTED A student who struggles with organization may fall behind academically. A student who struggles to regulate emotions may have difficulty staying engaged in class. A student who misses school may lose both confidence and academic momentum. A student who struggles socially may have difficulty focusing on learning. The School Social Worker helps connect those pieces. This role supports students in building the skills, habits, and confidence they need to participate successfully in school as a whole. HELP BUILD A STRONGER K–12 STUDENT-SUPPORT SYSTEM This position is central to our work to strengthen coordinated student supports across Community Leadership Academy and Victory Preparatory Academy. You will help:
  • Identify students who may benefit from targeted support
  • Provide individual and small-group interventions
  • Strengthen self-determination and self-advocacy
  • Teach executive-functioning and organizational skills
  • Support attendance and school engagement
  • Build emotional regulation and self-management skills
  • Monitor student progress
  • Participate in MTSS and student-support problem solving
  • Collaborate around applicable IEP, BIP, and student-support strategies
  • Connect families with appropriate school and community resources
  • Help staff use practical and consistent student-support strategies
  • Strengthen coordination among school professionals EXECUTIVE FUNCTIONING & ACADEMIC SELF-MANAGEMENT A major focus of this role is helping students develop practical skills that support success across every class. You may work with students on:
