Job Description

Occupational Therapist (OT)

Acute Care

Full-time

  • Work location: Texas Health Ft. Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue, Ft. Worth, TX 76104
  • Therapy Services

Work hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM; Weekends: 1 weekend day per quarter; Holidays: 1 holiday per year (Memorial Day, Juneteenth, July 4th, Labor Day, New Years Day) and rotational basis of less than once every 10 years to work either Thanksgiving or Christmas day.

  • Supportive team of over 40 Occupational Therapists in an acute care trauma hospital – focus on inpatient.

Here’s What You Need

  • Bachelor's Degree Completion of an Occupational Therapy program Required.
  • No Experience required – new grads are welcome!
  • Prefer experience with adult population, acute care hospital-based, inpatient experience.
  • OT - Occupational Therapist Texas Occupational Therapy License Upon Hire Required And
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Problem- solving ability; Ability to teach others.
  • Time management skills; Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills.

What You Will Do

  • Performs age-appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.
  • Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.
  • Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self-management and assistive equipment.
  • Documents all aspects of assessment, plan of care, and re-certifications in accordance with departmental, TJC, Medicare, and other applicable regulatory guidelines.
  • Works in partnership with peers, other disciplines, and departmental personnel
  • Focus on Daily Living Skills, Mobility and Cognition of patients.
