Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner - Urgent Care | PART-TIME | Shelby, NC

• Location: FLOAT POSITION - Shelby and Gastonia
• Status: Part‑Time
• Schedule: * Minimum of 4 shifts per month * - Clinic hours are 8:00 AM -- 8:00 PM Mon - Fri and 8:00 AM - 4:00PM Sat - Sun; 12‑hour shifts during the week with shorter 8-hour shifts on weekends.
• Compensation: Competitive compensation + monthly productivity bonus

Position Summary

We are seeking a Full‑Time clinician to join our team in Shelby and Gastonia, NC. This role is ideal for clinicians who value variety, autonomy, and meaningful community impact while practicing in a fast‑paced, well‑supported urgent care environment.

The work is engaging and varied, with a broad patient population and generally low‑acuity presentations that keep skills sharp without the pressure of inpatient follow-up.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting
• Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs and imaging
• Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing and wound management (as applicable)
• Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the EHR
• Code and bill services appropriately
• Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarks
• Practice in alignment with NextCare clinical standards and values

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted NC license
• Board certification or eligibility, as applicable
• PA: NCCPA certification
• NP: ANCC or AANP certification (FNP required)
• Active DEA license (or ability to obtain)
• Ability to treat patients of all ages
• Active BLS certification
• EHR proficiency
• Willingness to work occasional weekends and holidays
• DOT certification required or willingness to obtain (fees covered)

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior urgent care, emergency medicine, or fast‑track experience
• Strong procedural skills (e. g., suturing, splinting, wound care)
• Experience with initial x‑ray interpretation prior to radiology over‑read
