Position Title: Licensed Addiction Counselor

FLSA Status: Exempt

$5,000.00 sign-on bonus eligibility applies to this role. Payout schedule will be communicated upon offer.

Job Summary

This position assesses clients’ chemical usage and treatment needs, providing treatment, education and support to the clients and their families to help them develop and maintain sobriety and good health.

Reporting Relationships

The addiction counselor does not supervise any position.

*Any registered clinical supervisor may be assigned trainees.

LAC Duties & Essential Job Functions

Conduct assessments to determine client treatment needs.

Provide individual and group counseling, using variety of therapeutic techniques, to facilitate and maintain sobriety and wellness, to assist in growth and progress toward completion of treatment plan goals and objectives.

Develop materials for and facilitate client group meetings such as 12 step, relapse prevention, trauma, parenting, spirituality, etc., to assist in sobriety and wellness.

Assess client progress to evaluate success of treatment.

Maintains records and documents on clients and treatment progress as required by Federal, state, insurance/payment provider and ShareHouse standards, regulations, and policies.

Attend and participate in staff meetings to consult with other professional staff to ensure appropriate treatment, programming, and client progress.

Refer clients to and consult with other support services as needed to ensure continued and appropriate treatment.

Conduct administrative duties to include progress notes and documentation, creation, and review of treatment plans, completed in a timely manner according to program-specific policy and procedure, to adhere to applicable state, federal and agency regulations.

Provide and maintain reliable and prompt attendance, with the ability to work the schedule dictated by business necessity, to include evenings, on-call rotation and weekends as needed.

Assign clients drug screens and monitor the results

Periodic Functions and Responsibilities

Maintain contact and communication with outside agencies as needed to ensure open communication and transfer of information.

Participate in on-call rotation to ensure coverage for client needs.

Attend administrative and other meetings as required to maintain and increase awareness of organizational goals and objectives; communicate information as necessary to staff.

Provide leadership in the advocacy of ShareHouse and represent the organization at outside meetings in a positive manner to increase awareness of and generate interest in program.

Qualifications

Requires Bachelor’s degree in related discipline such as social work, chemical dependency, counseling or human services

• May require Masters’ degree in related field, dependent upon specific position requirements and program needs
• Required minimum work experience dependent upon position and program.

Required Licenses/Certificates

Requires current Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counseling certification or Licensed Addiction Counselor certification, depending on state/location/program or

Meet exemptions under applicable Federal/state rules and statutes.

Current Licensed Clinical Independent Social Worker certification or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, dependent upon specific position requirements and program needs. (preferred)

May be required to possess and maintain valid driver license and be able to be insured according to company insurance standards.

Telehealth Expectations

• Complete training as assigned related to telehealth expectations and etiquette
• Designated work area conducive to providing therapeutic services and client confidentiality
• Compliance with IT related requests, working devices/equipment and sufficient internet speed

Work Environment

This position works in an environment with few physical discomforts; may occasionally be exposed to drafts, noise, temperature variations and odors.

COMPENSATION range $65,000.00-$84,500.00 (DOE)
