• vision of the Medical Director, this position will provide psychiatric assessments (completion of Mental Status Exam and associated assessments to determine initial diagnosis and development of an initial treatment plan) and pharmacological management. The incumbent will ensure all clinical practices are in accordance with current acceptable medical practices as recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing. The PMHNP will write prescriptions under the PMHNP license prescriptive authority. This position will provide services to mostly adults and possibly an occasional child or adolescent. These services will be provided throughout the Center catchment area face to face or through telemedicine. This position will work under the clinical super

• vision of the Executive Director. HFC incorporates principles of trauma-informed care, which includes cultural sensitivity, in all areas of service delivery. Qualifications

Education, Training, and Experience Graduation from an accredited PMHNP program. Requires current Texas license to practice as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Requires prescriptive privileges from the Texas State Board of Nursing. Requires certification by American Nurses Association (ANCC) in a clinically appropriate specialty for a psychiatric setting. Must have current driver’s license and be insurable under Center insurance. Must pass and maintain all Center mandated trainings. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of nursing procedures and techniques. Prescribe medications as needed and supervise treatments of patients. Perform initial Psychiatric assessments and psychiatric update and mental status examinations. Must maintain licensure and current med requirements Able to use a personal computer (including Microsoft Office) as well as general office equipment effectively and efficiently. Ability to relate verbal instructions, communicate in a courteous and effective fashion with co-workers, consumers and families, agencies, and the public. Must have timely and appropriately completed documentation.
