Position SummaryMineral Community Hospital is seeking a dedicated Physician to join our hospital medical staff. This position is responsible for the medical management of swing bed patients and providing emergency department coverage. The ideal candidate will thrive in a rural critical access hospital setting and enjoy delivering high-quality, hands-on care across the continuum of inpatient and emergency services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary physician for the swing bed program, overseeing medical care, care planning, and discharge planning for skilled nursing and rehabilitation patients
• Provide emergency department coverage, evaluating and treating patients presenting with acute medical, surgical, and traumatic conditions
• Collaborate closely with nursing staff, case management, and other providers to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record
• Participate in quality improvement, peer review, and hospital medical staff activities
• Uphold Mineral Community Hospital’s standards of clinical excellence, patient safety, and customer service

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
• Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine
• Current, unrestricted Montana medical license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• Current DEA registration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (ATLS preferred)
• Strong clinical judgment and the ability to manage a broad range of acute and chronic conditions independently
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in rural or critical access hospital settings
• Prior experience managing swing bed / skilled nursing patients
• Comfort providing emergency care in a lower-volume ED environment
