Nurse Practitioner (NP)

Occupational Health Clinic | California

  • Job Type: Full-Time or Part-Time
  • Location: Rocklin, Sacramento, and Fairfield, CA
  • Compensation: Hourly or salary

About the Position

We are seeking a qualified and motivated Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our occupational health team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality medical care, conduct physical examinations, evaluate patients, and support our occupational health and pre-employment medical services.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and a commitment to patient care.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations and medical evaluations.
  • Conduct pre-employment and occupational health examinations.
  • Obtain patient medical histories and assess current health conditions.
  • Order and review laboratory tests and diagnostic studies.
  • Perform or oversee EKG testing as appropriate to qualifications and clinic procedures.
  • Evaluate patients and develop appropriate treatment plans.
  • Diagnose and manage common illnesses and medical conditions within the authorized scope of practice.
  • Prescribe medications when authorized.
  • Review examination findings and document results accurately.
  • Refer patients to specialists or other healthcare providers when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records.
  • Follow applicable federal and California healthcare regulations.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.

Qualifications

  • Current, active Nurse Practitioner authorization in California.
  • Current Registered Nurse license in California.
  • Graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • National certification appropriate to the candidate's NP specialty.
  • Experience in primary care, occupational health, urgent care, or family medicine preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment and patient communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and confidential medical records.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience conducting pre-employment physical examinations.
  • Familiarity with occupational health services and workplace medical evaluations.
  • Experience with EKG testing and interpretation.
  • Experience with laboratory testing and preventive health screenings.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
  • FMCSA National Registry certification if performing and certifying DOT medical examinations.
