Job Description
Carle Health is seeking an additional BE/BC Colon-Rectal Surgeon to join our practice at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.
Opportunity Details
Full spectrum of elective and emergent colon and rectal surgery, including IBD, anorectal disease, pelvic floor dysfunction, diverticulitis, colon cancer, and multidisciplinary rectal cancer care.
Join a collaborative team of 5 physicians and 2 APPs focused on high-quality, evidence-based care, enhanced recovery protocols, and participation in ISQIC, NAPRC, and industry-sponsored research.
Minimum of 2 to 3 years of post-fellowship clinical practice preferred, but new graduates may apply.
Dedicated clinical interest or advanced experience in pelvic floor disorders preferred but not required.
Monday-Friday, 8:00 a. m.-5:00 p. m. schedule with dedicated clinic and OR/procedure time.
1:4 shared call rotation, including weekends and holidays.
State-of-the-art Digestive Health Institute with 10 endoscopy suites and dedicated colonoscopy blocks for each surgeon.
Opportunity to teach General Surgery Residents and medical students, with faculty appointment eligibility through the Carle Illinois College of Medicine.
Collaborative research opportunities with the University of Illinois and the Biomedical Research Center.

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $475,000 - $500,000. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health.
The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model. Key Responsibilities
The surgeon will perform a full spectrum of elective and emergent colon and rectal surgeries while participating in multidisciplinary care teams. Additionally, the role involves teaching medical students and residents and contributing to clinical research initiatives.
Requirements
Candidates must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Colon-Rectal Surgery. A minimum of 2 to 3 years of post-fellowship clinical practice is preferred, though new graduates are encouraged to apply.
