About This Position

Oklahoma State University is looking for a performance dietitian to join the

Sports Nutrition Department to assist in providing sports with high-quality

care. In this role, you will work directly with athletes, coaches, and support

staff to identify and meet nutritional needs to optimize athlete health and

performance. This role will report directly to the Director of Sports Nutrition.

Key functions include

·         Provide current evidence-based nutrition counseling and education to

individual student-athletes and teams, as assigned

·         Deliver medical nutrition therapy (MNT) for nutrition-related

conditions such as deficiencies, food allergies/sensitivities/intolerances, GI

complications, and nutrition interventions related to injury, eating disorders

and disordered eating, etc.

·        Develop sports nutrition programming for education & intervention

·         Plan, implement, evaluate, and manage nutrition services provided to

student-athletes

·         Collaborate with sport coaches, strength coaches, sports medicine, and

operations staff

·         Coordinate with Cowboy Dining, the athletic department dining hall

Candidates must be willing to work flexible hours which may include early

mornings, evenings, and weekends when varsity teams are training, practicing,

and competing. Position is a part-time position working 20-25 hours per week.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's

Nutrition or related field

(degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)

* Two years of experience in the sports nutrition setting

Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses

Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, RD Eligible could be considered; Licensed as

a Dietitian in Oklahoma, or to be completed upon hiring; Sexual Harassment

Training, Minor's Training, CPR and AED Certification to be completed within 90

days of hire

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge

• Excellent interpersonal skills; Strong written and verbal communication skills;
• Ability to work well independently & as a member of interdisciplinary teams;
• Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate programs and services; Experience

with one-on-one nutrition counseling and group education; Gathering and

assessing body composition data (past Cosmed BodPod usage preferred); Proficient

in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

* Master's

* 2+ years as a dietitian in the elite, professional, or collegiate sports

setting

Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses

Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) or CSSD Eligible

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge

Experience counseling athletes with disordered eating/eating disorders;

Experience using Teamworks suite products
