Job Description: We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team on a full-time basis. We offer flexible work/life schedule. The Substance Abuse Counselor will play a crucial role in providing substance abuse counseling services to individuals affected by substance abuse, facilitating group sessions, and implementing evidence-based treatment interventions. This position requires a compassionate individual with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to supporting individuals on their journey to recovery. Duties include, but are not limited to

• Develop treatment plans based on each client's individual needs.
• Complete and maintain accurate records of progress, services provided, treatment plan, and other required information.
• Counsel clients in group sessions, using the approved curriculum provided.
• Conduct orientation intake sessions of individuals referred to the program.
• Evaluate client participation by monitoring behavior, attitude, and progress.

Qualifications

Education & Work Experience

• Associate Degree in Human Services, Criminal Justice, Social Work or related field required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC-IT, SAC or CSAC) credentials through the state of WI.
• 1 year of experience in counseling.
• 1 year of experience working with correctional/AODA clients. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Demonstrated ability working with individuals from diverse backgrounds; culturally competent.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, email, and internet.
• Ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality of all agency information.
• Ability to interact with staff, clients, and agents in an effective manner while maintaining professional boundaries.
