About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Radiation Therapist to join our oncology team in McMinnville, OR. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering prescribed radiation treatments to cancer patients while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and adherence to established treatment protocols.

You will collaborate closely with Radiation Oncologists, Medical Physicists, Dosimetrists, Oncology Nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist.
• Accurately position patients using immobilization devices and imaging guidance to ensure precise treatment delivery.
• Operate linear accelerators (LINAC) and other radiation therapy equipment safely and efficiently.
• Verify treatment plans, patient identification, and treatment parameters before each session.
• Monitor patients during treatment and respond appropriately to any concerns or adverse reactions.
• Perform image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) procedures to verify treatment accuracy.
• Maintain detailed patient treatment records and documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Collaborate with Radiation Oncologists, Medical Physicists, Dosimetrists, and Nursing staff to optimize patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and their families regarding treatment procedures, expectations, and side effects.
• Conduct routine quality assurance (QA) checks on radiation therapy equipment in accordance with departmental policies.
• Ensure compliance with radiation safety regulations and infection control standards.
• Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and continuing education programs.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

Required Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy or an accredited Radiation Therapy program.
• 2–15 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist in a hospital, cancer center, or oncology clinic.
• Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy [ARRT(T)].
• Active Oregon Radiation Therapist License (or eligibility to obtain prior to employment).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong knowledge of radiation therapy procedures, anatomy, physiology, and patient care.
• Experience operating modern radiation therapy equipment and treatment planning systems.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and patient care skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT).
• Experience with Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT).
• Experience with Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT).
• Experience with Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) and Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT).
• Experience in a multidisciplinary oncology environment.
• Oncology or cancer center experience preferred.
