Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital; Fort Smith

Pharmacist, Inpatient Rehabilitation, PRN

Location: 6700 Chad Colley Boulevard, Fort Smith, AR 72916

Schedule

PRN | Flexible Scheduled | 2 days/wk (8 hour shifts)| Every other weekend (4 hour shifts).

Join our team as a Pharmacist and play a vital role in ensuring safe, accurate, and effective medication management for our patients. In this role, you'll collaborate with physicians, nurses, and pharmacy staff to optimize drug therapy, enhance patient outcomes, and support medication safety initiatives across the organization.

What You'll Do

  • Verify and dispense medications with accuracy and efficiency
  • Review patient therapies for safety, appropriateness, and effectiveness
  • Monitor anticoagulant therapy and provide clinical recommendations
  • Supervise and support Pharmacy Technicians
  • Promote medication safety and quality improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with hospital, state, and federal regulations

What We're Looking For

  • BS Pharm or PharmD from an accredited school of pharmacy
  • Current state pharmacist license
  • Hospital pharmacy experience preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and communication skills

Key Responsibilities

The pharmacist will verify and dispense medications while collaborating with the healthcare team to optimize drug therapy and ensure patient safety. They are also responsible for monitoring anticoagulant therapy and supervising pharmacy technicians to maintain high standards of care.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a BS Pharm or PharmD degree from an accredited school of pharmacy and possess a current state pharmacist license. Previous hospital pharmacy experience is preferred, along with strong clinical judgment and communication skills.
