As a Music Therapist, you will provide individualized music therapy services to hospice patients and their families to promote comfort, enhance quality of life, and support physical, emotional, social, cognitive, and spiritual well-being throughout the end-of-life experience.
The Music Therapist works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to assess patient and family needs, develop appropriate interventions, and support the overall plan of care.
Services may be provided in patient homes, healthcare facilities, the Cedar Valley Hospice Hospice Home, and other locations throughout the CVH service area. Why Cedar Valley Hospice?

Schedule
Full-Time (1.0 FTE) Monday – Friday | 8:00 a. m. – 4:30 p. m. (40 hours per week)
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from an accredited program required. Must either hold a current Music Therapist-Board Certified (MT-BC) credential through the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT) or be in the process of completing Board Certification.
Music therapy experience in hospice or a healthcare environment preferred. Knowledge of music therapy techniques and interventions appropriate for individuals experiencing serious illness, end-of-life, grief, and loss.
Proficiency with at least one accompanying musical instrument and ability to use music effectively as a therapeutic intervention. Strong understanding of patient and family needs related to comfort, emotional expression, communication, meaningful activity, social connection, and spiritual support.
Current Iowa driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel throughout the CVH service area.

Provide individualized music therapy to hospice patients and families in homes, healthcare facilities, and locations throughout the CVH service area. Review referrals, assess patient and family needs, and develop individualized music therapy goals and interventions.
Deliver and adapt music therapy interventions to promote comfort, quality of life, relaxation, and connection. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support holistic patient and family care. Complete and maintain required documentation. Physical
