About the Role

Seattle Children’s is seeking a full-time Comprehensive Pediatric Otolaryngologist to anchor and grow our pediatric surgical practice at the South Clinic in Federal Way, WA.

This position offers an ideal balance: the autonomy and high community impact of a regional pediatric otolaryngology practice, fully backed by the academic resources, multidisciplinary network, and world-class reputation of Seattle Children’s Hospital.

Practice Environment & Scope

  • Comprehensive Clinical & Surgical Care: Serve as a pediatric otolaryngology expert for families across the South Sound region. The clinical scope focuses on core, high-demand pediatric otolaryngology conditions, including:
  • Sleep-disordered breathing, obstructive sleep apnea, and drug-induced sleep endoscopy (DISE)
  • Pediatric otology (tympanostomy tubes, tympanoplasty, chronic ear disease)
  • Pediatric sinus disease and endoscopic sinus surgery
  • Benign neck masses, thyroid conditions, and congenital lesions
  • Pediatric airway evaluation (e. g., diagnostic laryngoscopy/bronchoscopy, laryngomalacia)

Collaborative Network & Subspecialty Referral: Work alongside a robust team of specialized pediatric otolaryngology colleagues, dedicated nurses, advanced practice providers, audiologists, and speech-language pathologists.

Call & Hospital Coverage: Participation in the general pediatric otolaryngology call pool at the Seattle Main Campus is a core requirement of this position, ensuring equitable distribution of call and seamless continuity of care for our regional patient population.

Qualifications

  • MD/DO (or equivalent) with Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Otolaryngology.
  • Fellowship training in Pediatric Otolaryngology required.
  • Strong commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered, high-quality care in an ambulatory surgical setting.
  • Interest in building strong relationships with regional pediatric primary care providers.

Required Education and Experience

MD Degree.

Board eligibility or certification in Pediatrics by the American Academy of Pediatrics and/or specialty as applicable.

Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges at Seattle Children’s and other sites as applicable.

Required Credentials

  • Licensed as a Physician in the State of Washington or State within WAMI region.
  • Federal DEA Registration.

Prior to start of employment, must obtain, and maintain in good standing, medical or allied health professional staff privileges that are not limited, revoked, suspended, conditioned, or probationary, except for normal probationary periods due to initial appointment.

All medical and allied health professional staff members are provisional for the first year.

Any and all medical or allied health professional staff privileges at Children's will terminate automatically upon the termination of the individual's employment at Children's.

Termination of employment does not prohibit the individual from seeking medical or allied health professional staff privileges at Children’s as a non-employee in any category for which the individual qualifies.

Salary Information

This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
