Job Description
The Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) is a leading group of over
1,800 physicians in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D. C., exclusively caring
for Kaiser Permanente patients. We invite applications for a full-time
specialist in Emergency Medicine (Nocturnist) at our Largo Medical Center.
Unlike other U. S. health systems, MAPMG is built and led by physicians who earn
competitive salaries, without income based on providing individual services. Our
medical group comprises of board-certified physicians across 60+ specialties.
MAPMG physicians use a comprehensive electronic health record (EHR) to
coordinate care. Our focus is on long-term health, prevention, diagnosing, and
treating diseases effectively. MAPMG researchers and staff support innovative
ideas, ensuring quality care, educational programming, and advancing best
practices through research.
What You Can Expect
* This position is a 0.8 FTE, which is the equivalent of 32 hours per week and
is reflected in the salary listed below
* Advanced Urgent Care setting
* Nocturnist: Needs to work 90%+ overnight shifts
* Pay differential
* Fixed schedule determined at time of hire

* Observation Units staffed by our hospitalist teams
* Collaborative mixed-specialty department, comprised of emergency medicine,
family medicine, and hospitalist physicians working together and learning
from each other

Minimum Requirements
* MD or DO
* Board Certified or Eligible in Emergency Medicine
* Currently licensed or able to obtain licenses in the District of Columbia,
Maryland, and Virginia

The starting annual salary for this position is $296,000 which considers an
applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications,
training, market data, and other relevant factors. In addition to the salary
range above, MAPMG offers rich benefits that add substantial value to the total
compensation package.

Key Responsibilities
Provide emergency medical care as a Nocturnist in an advanced urgent care setting, working primarily overnight shifts. Collaborate with a mixed-specialty department of physicians to coordinate patient care and advance best practices.
Requirements
Must hold an MD or DO degree and be Board Certified or Eligible in Emergency Medicine. Candidates must be licensed or able to obtain licenses in DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
