Job Description
This is a contract, on-site position within the Medical Practice industry, offering a rewarding opportunity for an Associate-level anesthesia professional to provide essential clinical support on a locum basis.
As a Locum CRNA, you will deliver safe, high-quality anesthesia care across a range of surgical and procedural cases. You will work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nursing staff, and other members of the care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes before, during, and after anesthesia. This role is ideal for a skilled nurse anesthetist who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and is committed to patient safety and comfort.
Responsibilities
- Administer anesthesia to patients undergoing surgical, diagnostic, or therapeutic procedures
- Perform pre-anesthetic assessments and evaluate patient medical histories
- Develop and implement individualized anesthesia care plans
- Monitor patients' vital signs and physiological responses throughout procedures
- Adjust anesthesia levels as needed to maintain patient stability and comfort
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and clinical staff during procedures
- Manage airway and respiratory support for patients under anesthesia
- Document anesthesia records and patient outcomes accurately
- Provide post-anesthesia care and monitor patients during recovery
- Respond promptly to anesthesia-related emergencies and complications
- Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain and prepare anesthesia equipment and supplies for procedures
Requirements
- Associate-level education in Nursing or Anesthesia-related field
- Valid CRNA certification and active state licensure to practice as a Nurse Anesthetist
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Proven clinical experience administering anesthesia in a surgical or procedural setting
- Strong knowledge of anesthesia techniques, pharmacology, and monitoring equipment
- Ability to assess and manage patient responses to anesthesia
- Excellent critical thinking and rapid decision-making skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for team collaboration
- Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
- Ability to work on-site in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Flexibility to fulfill contract-based scheduling requirements
- Preferred: Experience in diverse surgical specialties and locum or contract assignments
Schedule: 7a-3p or 7a-5p
Work Schedule - Days/Week
Monday - Friday & weekday & weekend call
Beeper Call Requirement: 3p-7a, every third night
4 operating rooms
Case Types: General, endo, OB, GYN, pediatrics, urology, ENT, and orthopedics
Blocks required
Will practice independently
Support Staff: MD onsite
EMR: Cerner
Must be board-certified
ACLS, PALS, and BLS required
