Key Responsibilities

The Mental Health Assistant provides direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs, assisting with daily living activities, and performing assigned treatments. They also ensure a safe unit environment by conducting rounds, monitoring visitors, and assisting with patient de-escalation and containment.

Requirements

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a Heartsaver/CPR certification. Successful completion of a Nurse’s Aide training course is preferred, and applicants must pass a Nursing Attendant test administered by the medical center.
