Job Description
Provides comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with allergic, asthmatic, and immunologic disorders. Delivers high-quality, evidence-based care in both outpatient and consultative settings, collaborates with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, and supports organizational goals related to quality, patient safety, education, and clinical outcomes.
Major Responsibilities & Duties
Evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients with allergic, immunologic, and respiratory conditions.
Manages acute and chronic conditions including: Environmental allergies, food allergies, drug allergies, asthma, Eczema and atopic dermatitis, Urticaria and angioedema, immunodeficiency disorders, allergic rhinitis and sinus disease
Conducts and interpret diagnostic procedures, including skin testing, pulmonary function testing, and laboratory evaluations.
- Develops individualized treatment plans and monitor patient progress.
- Prescribes and manages pharmacologic therapies and immunotherapy treatments.
- Assesses and manages allergic emergencies, including anaphylaxis.
- Provides education regarding disease processes, triggers, prevention strategies, and treatment plans.
- Counsels patients and families regarding medication use, environmental controls, and allergy management.
- Promotes patient engagement and adherence to care plans.
- Collaborates with primary care providers, pediatricians, pulmonologists, dermatologists, ENT specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Coordinates referrals, consultations, and follow-up care as appropriate.
- Maintains timely and accurate documentation within the electronic health record (EHR).
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.
- Supports infection prevention and risk management activities.
- Maintains current knowledge of developments in allergy and immunology practice.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Comprehensive knowledge of allergy, asthma, and immunologic disorders.
- Proficiency in allergy testing and interpretation of diagnostic results.
- Ability to develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans.
- Strong communication and patient education skills.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with patients, families, staff, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Skill in clinical decision-making and problem-solving.
- Proficiency in electronic health records and clinical documentation systems.
Required Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited medical school required.
Board Certification or board eligible in Allergy and Immunology and medical licensure or eligibility in the State of Nebraska required.

Physical Requirements, Equipment Usage, Work Environment
Position is relatively sedentary in a normal office administrative environment involving minimum exposure to physical risks. Will use office equipment such as a computer/laptop, monitor, keyboard, and a general workstation set-up.
