Position Summary
The Mental Health Therapist - LPC-IT / APSW is a master's-level clinician who provides mental health and substance use disorder services under appropriate clinical supervision while progressing toward independent professional licensure.
This role participates in assessment, treatment planning, individual and group therapy, care coordination, discharge planning, clinical documentation, and interdisciplinary treatment services within the clinician's education, credentialing, supervision, and scope of practice.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and contribute to individualized treatment planning.
Provide individual, group, and family therapy or counseling within the clinician's credential, supervision, and scope of practice.
Provide mental health and substance use disorder assessment, counseling, intervention, referral, and care coordination services.
- Monitor client progress and participate in ongoing treatment plan reviews and updates.
- Coordinate with clinical, medical, psychiatric, peer support, and administrative team members to promote continuity and quality of care.
- Collaborate with outside providers, referral sources, families, and community resources when appropriate.
- Participate in discharge and aftercare planning and coordinate appropriate follow-up services.
Provide crisis intervention and clinical support within scope of practice and seek consultation when additional support is needed.
Complete required individual-session, treatment-plan, staffing, group, and other assigned clinical documentation within organizational timeframes.
Participate in individual and/or group clinical supervision, treatment team meetings, clinical staffing, trainings, and professional development activities.
Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and ethical standards applicable to the clinician's credential.
Represent WisHope Recovery Programs professionally in interactions with clients, families, referral sources, community partners, and other professionals.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or another related behavioral health field required.
- Current Wisconsin LPC-IT / Professional Counselor Training License (PCTL) or APSW credential required.
- Ability to practice under required clinical supervision and maintain all credentialing requirements.
- Experience in mental health, behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, or co-occurring disorders preferred.
- Strong clinical communication, documentation, organization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Commitment to client-centered care, professional growth, and appropriate use of supervision and consultation.
