Job Description

The University of Louisville Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is seeking an experienced, board-certified advanced heart failure cardiologist to join our cardiology faculty in our Heart Failure/VAD/Transplant program. Heart failure cardiologists will perform biopsies, right heart caths, and care for patients with advanced heart failure, cardiomyopathies, mechanical support devices, and transplants. UofL Cardiology has been a successful transplant center since 1984 and is one of the region's leading transplant hospitals, performing heart, lung, hand, liver, kidney, and pancreas transplants.

The successful applicant will participate in all aspects of the HF and VAD clinical service, including inpatient and outpatient settings (mid-level providers are available to help) and work collaboratively with our excellent surgical team. Responsibilities include teaching medical students, house staff, cardiology fellows, and an Advanced Heart Failure fellow. The candidate will also participate in clinical trials in heart failure and perform scholarly work. Call is shared within the Section of Heart Failure with the other two physicians.
