  • Schedule: Night Shift | 3x12s (7p–7a) | Every other weekend rotation

Your Impact on the Floor

As a Night Shift Mental Health Technician at New Vista Behavioral Health, you are a vital part of our patients’ recovery journey, helping maintain a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment throughout the night. You will:

  • Maintain Vigilance: Conduct routine safety checks, frequent rounding, and ongoing patient observations to promote safety and well-being throughout the night shift.
  • Uphold Standards: Accurately perform and document required clinical tasks, including vital signs, patient searches, and other safety procedures in accordance with facility policies.
  • Communicate for Continuity of Care: Promptly report changes in patient behavior, condition, or safety concerns to the RN to support timely intervention and continuity of care.
  • Maintain a Therapeutic Environment: Monitor the treatment milieu, manage visitor access in accordance with facility policies, and help maintain a calm, structured, and secure environment conducive to healing.
  • Support Recovery Around the Clock: Provide compassionate, respectful patient interactions while reinforcing boundaries, promoting emotional safety, and supporting each patient’s journey toward recovery.

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be 21 yrs or older
  • Preferred STNA but not required.
  • Preferred Nurses Aide.

Key Responsibilities

The Behavioral Health Technician maintains a safe and therapeutic environment by conducting routine patient observations and safety checks throughout the night. They are responsible for documenting clinical tasks, reporting changes in patient condition to the nursing staff, and supporting the recovery journey of patients.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED and be at least 21 years of age. While not required, certification as an STNA or Nurses Aide is preferred.
