Job Description
Inova Neurosciences and Inova Alexandria Hospital is looking for a dedicated Vascular Neurologist to join the team. This role will be full-time and is sign-on bonus and relocation assistance eligible.
Inova Neurology provides patients with the highest level of care relating to diagnostic, treatment and research services for neurological and related disorders. Our physicians are board certified in neurology, clinical neurophysiology, sleep medicine, internal medicine, electroencephalography, vascular neurology and electrodiagnostic medicine.
Our practice also offers in-office testing for a wide range of neurological and sleep disorders.

Inpatient Vascular Neurologist (MD/DO) Job Responsibilities
- Provide consultation, evaluation, and management of patients presenting with acute ischemic stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, transient ischemic attack (TIA), and other cerebrovascular disorders.
- Lead rapid stroke assessment and treatment decision-making, including administration of thrombolytic therapy and coordination of endovascular interventions.
- Interpret neuroimaging and diagnostic studies to guide evidence-based patient care.
- Collaborate with emergency medicine, neurointerventional, neurosurgery, critical care, rehabilitation, and hospital medicine teams to ensure seamless patient management.
- Manage patients throughout hospitalization, including monitoring neurological status, preventing complications, and optimizing recovery.
- Participate in stroke program quality initiatives, multidisciplinary rounds, and performance improvement efforts to maintain comprehensive stroke center standards.
- Educate patients, families, trainees, and healthcare professionals on stroke prevention, treatment, and recovery.
- Document clinical findings and treatment plans in accordance with regulatory, quality, and organizational standards.
Inpatient Vascular Neurologist (MD/DO) Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited institution.
- Training: Successful completion of Neurology residency program and successful completion of Vascular Neurology fellowship.
- Board Certification: Board eligible or board certified in Neurology
- Licensure: Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Virginia.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) upon start
- Payer Credentialing: Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third-party payors and Ability to enrolled as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor
- Medical Staff Credentialing: Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges sufficient to perform all required services
