Job Summary

The Division of Medical Oncology is seeking to recruit an outstanding mid-career academic clinical physician to join a robust and growing breast cancer oncology program. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills in breast medical oncology and be comfortable taking care of breast cancer from early to late stages as well as general oncology knowledge and an interest in clinical research in breast cancer. Research duties have the potential of being supported by protected research time. The candidate will be expected to work with a large team of clinicians, administrators, and staff across multiple care sites and in a multidisciplinary format.

Candidates with an interest in clinical administration and/or quality measures will be given high priority.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities

See patients diagnosed with or at risk for breast cancer in our Anschutz clinic location [approximately 2.5-3 days/week].

• Participate in the breast cancer multidisciplinary clinic 1-2 sessions/week.
• Serve in the inpatient rotation for coverage of the medical oncology consult and/or inpatient service.

Enroll patients to available clinical trials and lead clinical trials, either pharma, cooperative group, and/or investigator lead, across the consortium

Participation in national clinical breast research through the NCTN mechanism is expected.

Work Location

Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO. Clinical responsibilities may also be based at one of our satellite clinics, all of which are in the Denver metro area.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications:
• Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:

Assistant Professor

Licensed MD or DO from accredited Institution in U. S., or equivalent, if a non-U. S. graduate, must complete ECFMG certification & be qualified to obtain a temporary CO Medical license.

Eligible to be credentialed by the institutional processes established for oversight for advanced professional medical practice.

• Board certified in Oncology
• Associate Professor

Licensed MD or DO from accredited Institution in U. S., or equivalent, if a non-U. S. graduate, must complete ECFMG certification & be qualified to obtain a temporary CO Medical license.

Eligible to be credentialed by the institutional processes established for oversight for advanced professional medical practice.

• Board certified in Oncology
• 5-12 years of experience and achievement in clinical activity, research, and education.

Professor

Licensed MD or DO from accredited Institution in U. S., or equivalent, if a non-U. S. graduate, must complete ECFMG certification & be qualified to obtain a temporary CO Medical license.

Eligible to be credentialed by the institutional processes established for oversight for advanced professional medical practice.

• Board certified in Oncology
• 12+ years of experience and achievement in clinical activity, research, and education

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience specifically in breast oncology in a clinical setting
• Mid-career oncologist

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.

Outstanding customer service skills.

Anticipated Pay Range

• The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:
• Assistant Professor: $245,000-336,907
• Associate Professor: $285,596-386,859
• Professor: $340,000-466,000
• Potential for startup fund supplementation and protected research time.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
