The Medical Technologist II performs routine and special diagnostic procedures requiring technical skill and independent judgment, including phlebotomy and accessioning duties as needed. Responsibilities also involve ensuring test results meet quality standards through verification, evaluation, documentation, and assisting with the upkeep of laboratory procedures and policies.
Candidates must possess a B.S. in Medical Technology or an equivalent bachelor's degree with required coursework and clinical training, or meet alternate route requirements for certification by ASCP, NCA, or AMT. A minimum of ASCP, ASCPI, NCA, or AMT registration as an MT, MLS, or IMLS is required, with no prior work experience explicitly required.
