Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - General Surgery

The Mayo Clinic Health System Mankato General Surgery/Trauma Department is hiring for a Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner. The current practice consists of 5 General Surgeons, including trauma, bariatric, and colorectal surgeons as well as 5 NP/PA’s. Due to relocation, the practice is looking to replace a PA/NP to maintain practice standards.

Primary job responsibilities would include: patient evaluations, such as, consultations and post-surgical care; functioning as first assist in the operating room; and acute management of patients during level red trauma activations..

Other job duties include: ordering, conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests, formulating a diagnostic impression, developing and implementing a treatment plan, monitoring the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions, and prescription of pharmacological agents and non-pharmacological therapies.

The role would be include operative first assist, inpatient management, and ambulatory care patient responsibilities.
