Position Details: Work Shift: Varied Shift (United States of America) Scheduled Weekly Hours: 0 Department: First Care North Additional Details: This position will help serve all three First Care and Acute Care locations: Zanesville, Somerset, and Coshocton. Overview of Position: The Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides comprehensive care to the patients visiting the Genesis Urgent Care center.; The NP provides a broad range of evaluation and procedures within the NP; s scope of practice that would otherwise be performed by the physician. ESSENTIAL DUTIES 1. Works with the collaborating physician and department administration to meet needs of patients and the organization. 2. Performs pertinent physical exams and clinical evaluations of assigned patients and document findings in the medical record. 3. Performs procedures within the NP scope of practice as required for diagnostic and/or therapeutic purposes. 4. Orders and reviews laboratory tests and diagnostic studies as required. Notifies the attending physician of any problems that may require immediate attention or intervention and coordinates any required nursing interventions. 5. Coordinates transition to the patient’s primary care physician or other appropriate providers for care of chronic conditions or otherwise that cannot be met in the urgent care clinic. 6. Maintains balance between outcome, cost and process. 7. Works closely with patients and families to provide education on wellness, prevention and early intervention. 8. Functions as clinician, collaborator, consultant, and educator to accomplish desired clinical outcomes. 9. Functions as a self-directed professional using knowledge of nursing theory and advanced practice. 10. Maintains comprehensive knowledge of physical assessment, diagnostic studies, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology and pharmacology.
