The Speech Language Pathologist organizes and provides speech-language services to facilitate patient rehabilitation, directing participation in tasks to restore and enhance performance in communication and swallowing functions. They are responsible for the effective delivery of rehab services, timely documentation, attending care meetings, and consulting with the rehabilitation team to select appropriate therapeutic regimens.
Candidates must possess a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a similarly titled area acceptable to ASHA, and must have or be eligible for the Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA. Licensure or certification as required in the State of Texas is also mandatory.
