About the Role

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Part-Time) provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, medication management, and ongoing treatment for clients with mental health disorders. Working under the direction of a medical doctor, this role collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to support high-quality, recovery-oriented care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and medical assessments for clients
• Obtain psychiatric and medical histories and perform full evaluations
• Order and monitor laboratory tests and follow up on abnormal results
• Prescribe psychiatric medications under the direction of a medical doctor
• Monitor client response to medications and assess for side effects or adverse reactions
• Collaborate with treatment team members to develop and implement care plans
• Document assessments, treatment plans, and medication updates in the electronic health record (Anasazi)
• Obtain medication consents as appropriate
• Participate in staff meetings, case presentations, and in-service trainings
• Consult regularly with supervising medical doctor regarding client care
• Provide services aligned with ACT model treatment approaches
• Conduct home visits and community-based visits as needed
• Provide supervision to LVNs or LPTs as assigned
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university
• Current Nurse Practitioner license from the Board of Registered Nursing in the state of California
• Experience in psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management preferred
• Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
